PF Whitehead

History and Profile

Since our set up 50 years ago, PF Whitehead has experienced consistent growth built on hard work and reputation, with customer care and quality service at its heart.

A family owned and run business started in 1963 with just one vehicle driven by founder and Chairman, Peter Whitehead, the Company had grown to 30 vehicles by the end of the 1960s. Today, PF Whitehead is one of the largest and most respected independent transportation logistics providers in the UK.

We pride ourselves on providing a bespoke, personal service, combining traditional values with up to the minute technology and we spend time gaining a strong understanding of our customers’ business in order to deliver a tailored solution that’s right for them.

Working with PF Whitehead gives you all the benefits of a major logistics organisation, with the personal attention we can guarantee as an independent provider.

Through our range of services we help create supply chain value – by reducing our customers’ costs, improving their service and providing reliable capacity whenever and wherever they need it. Our flexibility, reliability, attention to detail and high levels of personal service are our trademark features and an impressive list of satisfied blue chip clients bears testament to our success.

Our high levels of quality and service have also secured us contracts with some of the major logistics providers, including IKEA and DHL, who we are proud to partner.

Our modern fleet of more than 50 vehicles ranges from 1 tonne vans to 44 tonne articulated trucks, allowing us to cover all aspects of transport services to a wide range of industries from retail to manufacturing, both nationally and worldwide.

PF Whitehead operates responsibly; we recognise the effect our industry has on the environment and are taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint and attain certified recognition through the ‘Build South London Scheme’, being run in conjunction with Carbon Smart.
